Currently rather uncomfortable posting my drawings since I’m in the middle of a slump (the first drawing is old, so it’s good, I have not posted it yet). Some practice so I don’t get too rusty. There’s a lot of text, some of it rushed, so if you’re confused feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to clear things up. I will do more posts about Icarus and other characters showing certain important events so I don’t need to write a large wall of text like this.


Quick Info:

-Icarus is easily irritated by young people, most of all kids. He’s impatient with people. Very patient with his birds. totally other person with his birds. Keeps to himself about things unless he needs to speak about it. Secretly a prankster, he picked this up from Hongen (after Hongen escaped from Goldapple he lightened up but still unemotional, he enjoyed doing silly things or pranks on Icarus while they were living together to break Icarus’ stoic expressions).

-loves birds, has a large golden bird form. Along with his humanoid form (seen here) and his polypomp form, which is decked out in gold, fancy designs and large gold plated rubies that serve as protective medallions. He also carries a large golden long sword with a large winged bird at the hilt. he has a cottage that allows birds to come and go freely, also lots of hanging open cages for them to rest in. He has an entourage of hens that act as guard dogs for his front porch. They are more ferocious than any Cerberus.

-He was once a soldier, once a guard. Now a professor who teaches in flight battle and still is called to do exorcisms (which is pretty much eradicating swarming mythics with his sword)

-chain smoker. It does serve a purpose in battle to confound enemies

-Loves coffee and tea. Never touches alcohol. He hates his teaching job (his hatred for annoying disrespectful young deaths. He often has to scare them to keep order)

-Danced as a kid, still does trepak time to time and stretches a lot to keep himself from becoming too slow doe to his bulky stature. He also learned to play the harp, which soothes his nerves and the birds in the cottage that chill out at his cottage place at the fringes of Victus Muerte.

-His parents own a large mansion within the nice areas of the city. Icarus does not visit too often, he hates the city. His father was once mortal, his mother was always a death.His mother is from a long line of high ranking polypomps.  He looks up to his father (why he became a soldier) and Ica fears his mother’s temper but still adores her since she taught him a lot. As to why he did everything such as dance ( traditional Russian dances, which he later adopted to his fighting style) and music (Harp) despite it being embarrassing. Luckily all of which were private lessons.

-Close friends with Lillian (despite hating her for tricking him to advance his age), Illumina (for changing his path in life for the better), Nott, Otos (an owl who visitis him and introduces him to shifter), Shifter/Erik/Redd (later in Ica’s timeline, these OC’s© Allie VanO)

Icarus is Russian designed death with some Jewish religious background (his mother’s side-this religious background is not too important other than he becomes a priest who exorcises swarming mythics). His mother is a death while his father was once mortal (Russian origins), but after he had met Icarus’ mom the two decided that she would take his father’s soul and they would be together as polypomps. Not all death/mortal relationships are like that. For example, Nott and Haya(©Alli VanO) decided that Nott will live out her mortal life and Haya will search for her soul in the areas below Victus Muerte (land of the dead in my world) after she died. However, for her to live on the surface area there is some annoying bureaucracy in Victus Muerte and a high ranking official to give her the ability to a Polypomp. I don’t have the entire process worked out just yet.

Victus is a tiered area, Similarly to the world where the shadows reside in (like  Deft, Blip, Bwight, White, Liodyn and Nolive) Below the top level, this is where the polypomps live, below are thousands of levels organized according to eras and souls that died in a certain era reside in these areas. They are documented and guided to these places by the form of death that took their life when it was a mortal’s time.

For Icarus, he is “made” from the Erst Re (life string or the essence of existence in my universe)  from both his parents and they merged those parts of their souls while camping out in a family cabin in Siberia (his father was on duty since he is ice related death, army related, death of frostbite as a soldier-something similar to that) While in the process and while his mother was busy after the merging another drifting golden essence had entered Icarus’ developing ball. This will be important much later. But due to this he becomes a polypomp more associated with deaths from flight. After the war with the Mythics (he was under Glasere’s direction at the time) he became known as the Golden Hawk since his polypomp form is decked out in gold and very detailed and he fought ferociously in either his humanoid form or polypomp form.

Icarus follows close to his father and enters the army against the mythics, there was a war between the deaths and the mythics at this time. After the war with the mythics (he was under Glasere’s direction at the time) he became known as the Golden Hawk since his polypomp form is decked out in gold and very detailed and he fought ferociously in either his humanoid form or polypomp form. there was an instance i nthe war that made him question his understanding of respect and how ot earn it (he’s obsessed with people looking up to him and not the other way around) when he’s almost unraveled (killed) by a snow owl spirit. Icarus was called back to be a guard for a company lead by Prof. Goldapple who was engineering soldiers to take down special and dangerous cases such as death rogues and extremely powerful mythics. Similar to unmanned drones for human soldiers. Hongen is introduced and he was one of the few Miraj(s) (the name of these creatures/meaning that they are not real deaths since they cannot guide the souls of mortals but can only eliminate death and mythics) who showed signs of regenerative erst re and thus the ability to reproduce. Goldapple forced Hongen to undergo horrific experiments and Icarus’ was having a moral dilemma allowing this to happen.


Icarus met Illumina and helped Icarus come to the conclusion to bust Hongen out, which he does (this lesson dealt with Icarus need to garner respect, Illumina tells him respect is best when you earn it yourself for yourself and not from others ). Luckily, Icarus has a good rep back i nthe war Goldapple couldn’t do much to apprehend him. though the Judges in Victus do use this as blackmail to make him work as a teacher to instruct young soldier deaths in flight battle. Icarus hates the job but takes it. this is after he meets Lillian (the plague of swarms) when Icarus was looking for work for Hongen and himself. Lillian tricks Icarus to age hismelf, sicneLillian is a plague (an original death, never born) she can go to any age and revert. This was a lesson on respect and age does not garner respect, experience does. Reason as to why Icarus looks old (he is rather young in Polypomp years, and born polypomps can advance their age when they want but cannot revert)

Lillian and Icarus yell at each other a lot, usually exchanging insults because of this incident but they are friends in some way. After all, Lillian helps Ica and Hongen find jobs as rogue hunters/mythic hunters. Hongen meets Yanagi when he is trained to hunt rogue deaths and rampant mythics. Icarus becomes a “priest” where he kills off swarming mythics that interfere with death or cause a large amount of untimely deaths.

Now he is a profssor, he still is called to exorcise swarms. In his earlier years of teaching Illumina asks him a favor to teach Nott (when she was younger) to control her strength and power. Icarus does (reluctantly, he hates kids but does so since Illumina helped him out so long ago and changed his path for the better). Icarus and Nott are sparring buddies as she got older. They also trade insults but they are less lined with anger compared to Lillian and Icarus. He also eventually meets Shifter, Erik and other character in the other universe that belong to Alli VanO.

Gonna get on finishing water, grass, dragon, electric and maybe dogs by the 25th of May. Updated the end date. I wanted more stickers available for winners to choose from.

I was invited to go with two of my art professors to an art show at Leonardtown, MD on Friday (the Art Center behind PNC Bank). It was pretty nerve wracking, but I enjoyed myself. I got to meet my color theory prof’s mama (who’s pretty cool/super adorable btw).

I’m kicking myself in the butt for forgetting to take photos of myself being there, the saying, “photos or it didn’t happen” is haunting me now. Next time I’ll take some. Anyways, the pokemon stickers were a great success, I’ll have to restock some (there are some still available at my store). Also, the bee sunflower gouache painting on wood sold, I saved a good photo of it to make a print later.

Speed paint. Character named Ambrosia. She’s been split into three parts when my comic universe revamped about 2 years ago. One part is an elf that works as a mechanic in a desert territory. Another half is her child self wandering the death realm trying to collect what pieces are left of who she possibly was before the split. Finally, this is the uncensored/not memory impaired portion but lack of sympathy/clear judgement. She is a constant state of limbo, constantly searching but not really gaining what she wants. All versions have long animate hair. But this version Ambrosia’s hair can transform into a full dragon made of hair and branches and other vegetation. Backdrop: Ambrosia’s species is called the Kirei©/ they’re part of a category of creatures called mythics, mostly things that are considered a myth/unreal. But they play an integral part in the life/death system of my version of nature. The kirei were the polar opposite to polypomps (my version of deaths/reapers) they fashioned the only weapon that could fully unravel/vanquish death. A bow and arrows made of acacia trees (acacia is said to ward off death). However, long ago there was a war that entailed a total genocide against the kirei’s by the polypomp general Glasere (formerly Icarus’ superior) But after the war (which was mostly a stalemate, no one really won or lost, mostly a big mess. After this war between mythics/deaths was no longer permitted since it messes up the nature cycles for mortals) instead  priests/rogue hunters took the place of these crusades. So this is where Hongen and Icarus come in. I won’t go more into it cause it’s all wibbly wobbly timey wimey (haha) but essentially in my story when Hongen runs into the last surviving Kirei, Ambrosia, the timeline when he successfully/easily kills Ambrosia is erased and he nearly dies. Yanagi has to step in to kill Ambrosia (the weird alternate timeline splits Ambrosia into three). These three entities are seldom seen throughout the series. (mostly i was looking for an excuse to link my universe with Allison VanO’s but i couldn’t find any other venue how to do it :l ) Other characters that is split by three is White. His other selves are Bwight and Blip. I’ll have more on them later.

I totally forgot about the ground types! I’ll include Cubone/Marowak (all the feels Lavender Town) when I make a ground type sheet. Though it probably will not finished by the time of the giveaway’s end xl I still have Grass/Dragon and Deep Water set up next. Thanks a bunch for the input!
